Access the trails from a parking lot on the Lockwood Valley side. Support the local businesses and get your after-ride lunch in nearby Frazier Park or Lake of the Woods - there are plenty of options to choose from.

Expect the weather to change rapidly on the mountain.

Up on Frazier Mountain, the riding is cooler thanks to the elevation and forest canopy, and the vibe is laid-back with far fewer crowds. The terrain is diverse and offers something for just about every rider. From flowing dual tracks to technical single track sections with steep downhills and tight switchbacks, there's plenty to challenge and excite. Just be prepared for a bit of exposure and rocky sections - this might not be the ideal spot for absolute beginners.

A few sections require some basic balancing skills.

Rocky hill climbs keep things interesting.

The biggest challenge? Keeping your eyes on the trail. The views are absolutely stunning, especially looking out over Lockwood Valley on the mountain's west side. As we pushed toward Miller Jeep Trail and beyond, the landscape opened up into scenes that felt straight out of the Wild West.

Gorgeous scenery in Lockwood Valley

All in all, if you’re looking for dramatic scenery, varied terrain, and just the right amount of challenge to keep things interesting, Frazier Mountain is the spot for you.
